Skittles…having the grapes.
Love them or not, Skittles has disrupted the internet for a day or two. Who else can say that. Skittles…who would have thought, but bravo to you. This is what it’s all about; blazing new social media frontiers and taking chances along the way. There’s a great article about it in today’s Marketing Daily, the Wall Street Journal and other blog sites.
I applaud Skittles’s groundbreaking decision to turn its site into a buzz machine allowing for consumer-generated media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Flickr, YouTube and Wikipedia to take center stage. Instead of the corporate-produced content (bla, bla, bla, same old sh*t), that some product managers think their customers want to hear.
So again, bravo to you Skittles for having the grapes.
